Mixed Performance Tires?
Hey guys,
Possibly dumb question:
Can anyone verify that the Mixed Performance tires are the Pilot Super Sports?

It probably is since we haven't seen any except PSS... but with the e9x, it was completely luck of the draw. I believe there were three tire suppliers at one point. Initially it was just PS2 or Conti CSC3. Later, they mixed in some Pirelli Pzero tires. This was the for the 19". I'm not sure what it was for the 18" wheels. You could not specify which tires you got.

Considering that tires are the most influential variable in the car's handling, I wish OEMs would stick to one kind of tire when selling cars to customers. If I get any tire but PSSs I'll be pissed.
Heck even just a 2psi difference in tire pressure can make a noticeable difference in the feel of the car. Makes me wonder how similarly the same car is setup from one car magazine test to another |

One of the reviews I read said that the Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the F8x are actually customized a bit specifically for this car, so I bet this is the only tire that they did that with, and the normal PSSs I have now are already the best tire I've had. What those differences are, though, I am pretty curious about. I wonder how much more it'll cost than the "regular" PSSs.
