from BMW rep at the Rose Bowl... "New M4 can keep up with Rahal's V8 race car"

Dont slay the messenger....

While at the big festival at the Rose Bowl yesterday, I spoke to a rep that has driven the M4 extensively and his thoughts were that it is stupid fast, he misses the V8 roar, torque makes you forget about V8, and the car can keep up with the Rahal V8 race car that was also in the booth. Not sure I believe the Rahal statement....what you guys think? Feasible?

those were the things that stood out from our brief conversation. Told him I had an order for a week 32 build and asked him if he could start it up so I could hear it... he replied that it was a pre-production model and it doesnt sound good at all. He also said that that particular pre-production model wouldnt let you rev it up without a load and that it sounds like nuts and bolts on cold starts...

Just sharing my convo with dude...

Was the race car the M3 GT2 or the newer Z4 GTE that replaced it? Just curious - either one would bury an M4 (and most other production cars too).

The new M4 will trap 129 mph, and keep up with it.

You heard it here first.
