Insight on X5M purchase

Greetings and cheers to this app- simply brilliant to see owners helping each othe-r my question is this, I am going to be purchasing a 2012 X5M very soon...any guidance or insight on common issues to look for/ trouble shoot/ in a 2012 build X5M? Any things or issues you would have asked a dealer to provide or address prior to purchase if you were in my shoes? Thanks in advance!

Ive got a 2010 and I've only had a few minor technical issues. Everything should be sorted out on a 2012. Buy one and drive it like you stole it.

Face cream so the wrinkles from the smile you have when driving don't stay that way forever..

Getting only 14mpg with my current x5 based on my local driving...guessing the X5M will be closer to 11-12mpg?

depends what type of driving you do. I noticed similar mpg to my 09 4.8i. 12's are pretty problem free, just make sure its been serviced well

Gas mileage does vary by the way you drive, as with any car. 55 mph I get 24 mpg, 75 mph I get 17 mpg, and around town I get 12-14 mpg. I just filled up and it says I have over a 400 mile range.

I know you asked about 2012 X5M, but there is no major difference between 2011 and 2012...here is what I had done recently:

-battery replaced
-window switch replaced (rear driver side)
-stabilizer links
-tie rods
-right control arm and tension strut
-steering rack (next week)\

The one thing I would have asked for is a 3stage paint correction, since the dealers just do a quick detail on it to hide imperfections. After 1 or 2 washes all the swirls and paint flaws came out. Next time, I would insist on this, especially if you want a black vehicle.
