If the price was the same, I'd go with the 911, but they aren't, so it would be the M3 as its around 50k cheaper here

I'd go M3 no matter of price. 997S is for sure a great car, but I don't like most of the people drivin' them here. If OP compared with an GT3, hmm....

If I was a poser then maybe the 997 would be my choice, but as I am not, the M3 gets my vote.

Title says E92 but poll says E90. Its a bit conflicting and since I'm not a mind reader I don't know which one the OP really means. And I don't have to mention there is a big difference between E90 and E92...to me at least.

In any case if its the E92 vs Carrera S I'll go for the M3. If its the E90 vs Carrera S I'll take the Carrerra.

I seriously looked at the 997 before i ordered the M3. Great car but they are somehow more ordinary than the M3 (kinda hard to explain) and they do have a poser image. Plus as Aiden said they are 50K more in ireland than an M3...if you were wondering the one i looked at was €163,000 and wasnt even an "s". it only had 325bhp

The 997S... it's a unique driving experience.

Though the 911's notoriously tail happy days are in the past, you can still feel its weight behind the rear axle. Utilising this particular trait, you can slingshot the car out of corners like no other.

For the same price i'll the take the Carrera S. And even for $20k more i'll still take the Carrera S. I just don't think it's a fair comparison. Performance wise the M3 should have the edge, other than that the Porsche is in a different league. IMHO.

I voted for the E90 but meant E92, am not so keen on a 4 door as well.

My vote was taking into account existing prices. If the S was priced significantly closer to the M I would ponder the decision much more intensely.
