Installed AD08R's - Alignment Question

So I tossed on a set of the new AD08R's and upon leaving my normal shop a guy was trying to tell me that our cars should be re-aligned every 5000 miles or so. He said that with the aggressive tires and suspension settings they are far more prone to move out of set alignment from normal driving, so they should be re-done roughly every 5k. Any validity to this? How often do you guys tend to re-align your M3's? (so far the new rubber is AWESOME, btw )

That is BS... you need an alignment when the alignment goes out. Depending on how many bumps and potholes you hit, it can be sooner or later. But 5K miles is insanely low miles.

I'd say do an alignment every 2 years or whenever you get new tires.

I would say no to that. Is it a track driven car or street. Would make some difference but should hold alignment fine on the street for a long time.

I had mine done for the first time at 45K miles and 5 years old as there was a slight variance in tyre wear patterns on all tyres although the car felt fine. The only thing that needed adjustment was the cross toe front and rear (total toe was fine). It didn't feel any different afterwards. I imagine the crap state of some of our roads were the cause.

Awesome tires... You'll enjoy those.
What that guy told you is total BS. A general rule of thumb is anytime you have a suspension change, an alignment may be needed. Spring over coil/coilovers, wider wheels and tires ect...

Tracked Corvettes need to be realigned quite often ( unless you change some parts to lock it down better). Maybe he was coming from that background.

My M3's alignment after 45 track days has been solid.

I can vouch for that.

My camber settings would be all out of wack from a track weekend on my old c5 z06.

Funny thing was you barely noticed around town even with the toe out.
