Knock yourself out Eastie!
If I remember correctly, you ordered Jerez/Black. I'd be interested in hearing another opinion on how the roof goes with Jerez. |

Can't wait to see the pics/review. You should call in sick tomorrow and give yourself a nice long weekend to break her in and enjoy the moment of being a new owner. Congrats!

Update and Photos:
I've posted a few photos here
Apologies for the delay in updating you - I was preoccupied yesterday... Although the borough council kindly resurfaced the road outside my apartment especially for my new car, yesterday was pretty frustrating. I didn't get a chance to drive out of town. It was a bit like taking a boistrous dog for a walk and not letting him off the lead. It also pissed it down with rain before I could take any photos, so you'll probably never get to see how clean it was... I had to get a tracker fitted this morning, but I got a good drive in this afternoon after a detour to Richmond Park to take some pics. I'll post a proper report when I've collected my thoughts, but for the time being: 1) Aesthetics - It's not a stunner (I cannot stand the hideous powerdome, which seems to occupy half the driver's view), but I'm delighted (after having serious doubts) with Jerez Black, which despite being completely un-photogenic, looks great in the flesh - the colour changes in the light from being an almost jet black in the sun to a rich indigo under fluorescent lights: it's awesome. The car looks very aggressive compared to the other M-cars parked in my building - a matter of taste, really. 2) Driving Impressions - The car has not yielded any real surprises. It delights in the areas we expected and I also feel there is more than a grain of truth in some of the criticisms we've heard levvied at it. I've done 250 miles today (urban, countryside and motorway) and have noticed the gear-shift ease up considerably. It's been very difficult to stick to my own policy of taking it easy while running it in - the engine is an absolute gem and its noise, while not up to supercar volume levels, is both seductive and addictive. Suffice is to say I've already tested virtually all the settings and electronic driver aids and I'll give you a proper account in due course. No problems at all and (if the guage is to be believed) all the oil they gave me is still in the car. 3) Owner Tips - Take your credit card everywhere you go. It's very thirsty! |
