Considering doing something stupid
So I know how the electrical in our cars is temperamental when it comes to after market audio systems. I am wondering if anyone has purchased a double din, aftermarket stereo, for their e92/e93. I know my steering wheel controls may not work anymore and my built in Bluetooth would also be inoperable and not sure what else wouldn't work but seeing if anyone has any tips, warnings they wanted to share.
I'm looking at the Pioneer Appradio 3. Not even sure if all my speakers would be able to function if I did this. So any assistance you can provide would be great. Thanks!

Ok. Yeah that seems to be what everyone is saying. I wish they had a double din device with a large screen you could just plug in and it was plug and play.

dont do it!!! you will destroy the look of your car. Those double dins are for cheap non integrated cars. Just do an OEM upgrade if your getting bored CIC + combox, better speakers, amp etc.

FWIW read up on AppRadio - it got a really bad rep very quickly... slow CPU, not native apps, etc etc..
I for one just want one very simple thing... let me mirror my iphone or android screen to the display at full resolution. That's it. Anything can do that for me? This way I can run Waze or radar detector apps and use the 2/3 section of the screen for my display. So little to ask for yet so far away. SIGH |
