Ideal color combo w/ higher mileage (09) or acceptable color, lower mileage (08)

Hey guys in the market and trying to decide my plan of action for this purchase. I already own a jet black/imola E46 so would prefer a lighter color E92. I've located an 08 with 22k miles only 30 min from my house, Jerez with black interior, all options, DCT, CF roof. BUT I have also found a space grey/fox red (quite ideal combo in book) '09 with 46k miles, same options, specs, etc.- 5 hours away. Now would you guys choose the lower mileage '08 or the higher mileage '09 (updated iDrive) with an ideal color combo? Also, figure the transport costs and the 10hr drive it may take to see the '09 before purchase.

Keep looking for one with low miles and ideal color combo. Why would you "settle" on a $40k+ purchase?

Space grey on red looks really good ... I would just wait till another one pops up. Try to get a 09+ also.

Like others have said....why settle? Be patient if you want a SG with Red Rox e92 with lower miles. What you want will pop up.
If you are cool with SG that has 46k miles and the PPI checks out, etc...and the price is aggressive, grab it.

09, 08 the idrive nob is an eye sore

I would go for the 09. Depending on when it was built, it is still a 5 year old car so it has seen less than 10k miles a year which is fine. The Idrive difference in the 09 is a night and day difference over 08. To top it all off it is the color you actually want which imo is the most important. Don't ever settle on color combo. Good luck with whichever route you choose!

I could imagine this question if your predicament were between an 09/10, however, 08 and 09 is no comparison and I will always say the 09 for various reasons that I'm sure you're aware of. However, in this case...keep searching. Don't "settle" on a purchase even if it is a depreciating asset. You're not a kid that needs it NOW, well I hope not anyhow.

Here's some food for thought, would you trade in your wife (if you had/have one) with you being her only partner over a younger model who's been with 20 guys? It's not always about the mileage, it's about the person giving it those miles. Even my 2011 that I traded in for a 2013, it has 70,000KM in less than 2 years, however, those were mostly highway and the maintenance was given more regularly than Charlie Sheen's nose addiction.

Thanks for the inputs guys. I will let you know what materializes, if anything, in the near future. May try to travel and see the Space Grey to even see if it is worth my consideration. Luckily, the price keeps decreasing almost weekly on the '08, clearly time is our friend as NE Ohio is deep and winter and I would store the car until April anyways. (As long as it doesn't sell of course!)
