Texts and emails

So I can get texts to the iDrive by enabling push notifications on the iPhone but how do you reply and enable emails?

Im almost positive that you can only reply and receive emails if you are using a blackberry.
I have 2 phones hooked up via bluetooth. An Iphone4s and a Blackberry q10. I am able to send and receive emails with only my blackberry.

On my f11 you can use the connecteddrive menu to add application services, one of which is email. Works fine for gmail send and receive. Doesn't need to be paired with the phone as it uses the cars GPRS (or 3G on the f15?) connection

Do you have to add app services every single time you get in car? I do and do not know if doing something wrong

No just need to add it once, but it takes a few menu clicks to get to the (g)mail app. It would be ideal if you could assign a favourite to that level of menu option but you can't.

This isn't to be confused with the Mobile Apps (6NR) which I don't have on my car, but you do need an active ConnectedDrive subscription.

The closest explanation by BMW is you need to have a valid ConnectedDrive subscription with these functions enabled for MY2014 BMW's
