BMW Stealership

Hi all

Just got my front wheel bearings replaced under warranty due to loud clicking noise from the wheels.

I found damages to my wheels on the lug nut areas and even overtorqued my wheels, also paint peeling from my brake calipers.

The service manager refused my claim saying it is normal when removing the wheels and calipers, prones to scratches/damages

Any ideas where I can escalate this matter?

Definitely not right. I'd go up the chain to either his manager or BMW Aus.

Spose the side of the car is prone to scratches and damages as well when its in the shop... Total bullshit, make a record of the conversation, tell him you are contacting both his manager and consumer affairs and watch him backpedal fast. If the car was in their care, they are responsible for it and should return it in exactly the same condition.

Sounds like Stilwell's...

Ask to see the wheels on his personal vehicle, then ask if they've ever been removed.

I had a dealership break my headlight, they claimed it was the risk I took... Quoted close to 1k in parts alone, I should have it sorted under $200.

Use a trusted indépendant if you can. Does SBM maintain warranty?

Go onto BMW Australia's Facebook page and kick up a massive storm. Pretty sure it'll get solved quick smart.

That's like saying if one of the techs had really bad diarrhea and shat all over your seats it's just the risk you took. Here's your shit covered car back, too bad so sad. It would never happen and should never happen. Tear them a new one. Shit, give me your details, photos, correspondence etc and I'll do it for you.

Pictures are not so visible due to the shiny machined side of the wheels reflecting back.

I do not mind sharing with everyone, it Don...cas...ter Stealership.

Service manager BS with me say it is hit by rocks, then his general manger came out and argue with me say he is not replacing them. I told them it is due to mis-treatment of the wheels and calipers and obviously the bloody idiot technician working my car is a knuckle head goose!

I told both of them off, arguing with the customer in the first place is wrong and customer is always right...

I would expect to pick up my car the way it is when I dropped it off. I ask them how would you feel if your car is been treated this way, they went silent after i raised my voice.

I been removing my wheels infinite number of times for detailed cleaning and no scratches at all.

I told them unfortunately I am a car enthusiast and very passionate about my car, every single spot on my car I know it from top to bottom and where will go wrong...

They called me up yesterday saying they will replace my brake caliper, one less worry.

Next thing is my BMW performance wheels, will see how the repair goes, this performance wheels cost a fortune for me.

Couldn't help but laugh at that

You should do the exact same thing with the loan car they give you and tell them "it's a risk you took" and OHHH suddenly you have to pay for it.

They refused to repair or replace my wheel, stay as it is , they damaged my wheels and want to walk away free?

Going to bring this up to BMW Group Australia, BS!

Brought my car in in one piece, pick up in two pieces...

Being it up on social media. A little bad PR their way with some photos can never go amiss.

just lodged my complaint to BMW Australia.

They told me they have taken my case up with concern and will contact the Stealership shortly.

Not sure what my chanes of winning are...

They are in deep shit now, wasted so much of my time on this on & off BS.

If they have taken extra care in the first place, none of this would have happened.

Its simple Ed, as Froop says, take a good quality photo of the damage on your wheel, post it on the BMW facebook page with a short explanation of this is what happens when you take your car to BMW for a service, premium price and un-premium service. They damage the wheel but wont do anything about it.

Pictures tell 1000 words, it will get things happeneing alot faster for you.

+1, the BMW Aus facebook page has a pretty large audience and they are very diligent with responding to complaints/queries.

Bring it there and you should get a response.
