What colour should I paint my M3 rear subframe?
So I ordered an M3 rear subframe from the UK and it arrived but it's all rusty so it needs to be sandblasted and repainted/powdercoated.
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=877288 I was thinking of painting it Phoenix Yellow or some other kind of goldish metallic yellow to match my BMWP brakes and front air scoops. Of course it won't be highly visible unless looking from underneath the car but it can be seen slightly through the wheels and wheel arches if looking from the right angle. My mechanic thinks I'm crazy and should paint it grey or silver. Let me know what you think. Also happy to take suggestions!

I agree with matching it to another accent on the car, such as your calipers. What color are your wheels, for reference? If they are a darker shade, that would look pretty neat.

As nice as it would be to paint the subframe an accent color, i feel like it would get just filthy and look horrible if painted yellow

Haha yeah it would get pretty filthy but I guess you wouldn't ever see it unless looking from underneath the car or carefully through the wheel arches. If I ever do some kind of show I could always put it up on stands and take a wheel brush and hose to it before going I guess.

Yeah, I agree. Save your money and just spray it either silver or black yourself.
