Stinky AC
After running the AC, I'll turn it off and a nasty smell blows through the vents for about 5 minutes. It definatly is an HVAC-ish smell: moist old socks that I played hockey in about 2 weeks ago and left in my bag, and then put them on my vent to dry out.
WTF? (cabin filter is new, this is some kind of internal residual drain/vent thing) |

The evaporator might have some mold in it from moisture. There's a procedure were u tap into your blower motor and inject cleaner into the system to clean the evaporator out. I work for a BMW dealership. We also use a special spray were you spray down the cabin filter it gives it a nice lemon scent.

This happens to all A/C systems if the evaporator is always left wet.
I will turn off the A/C a couple minutes before I park my car, and turn up the fan speed to dry off the evaporator. Makes a huge difference in mold build up. |
