BMWP Front Bumper - which splitter?

Hi all,

Finally got my BMWP front sorted out on my hatchback:

116d Performance Edition by jamesnathanjolly, on Flickr

I want a full length splitter to fit under the front lip, but not too sure which one is compatible with the BMWP bumper??

I saw a picture of someones car on the forum with one fitted, but now for the life of me, I cant find it again!!

I'm not bothered about it being carbon as ideally I would like to colour code it white to match the bumper for a more OEM look

ther kerscher lip fits nicely with some modifications on the inner fenders, mudflaps and underbody pannel.

Thanks, do you have any pics or a diy for the mods??

The Kerscher is lovely, but quite expensive

I was also thinking of this splitter...

Made by Rieger, and comes in black plastic - so easily painted Alpine white to match my car

Does anyone have any experience with it over the Kerscher, its half the price of the kerscher??

Kerscher hands down. By a country mile the best looking lip for the 1.

Beautiful bumper btw.

Thanks for the replies people

Its a tough call between the Reiger and Kerscher to be honest..

I think the Kerscher looks better, but the Reiger is only ABS plastic not carbon, which brings the cost down significantly and also would be ideal for painting as I wont be painting the Kerscher if I plump for that...

The Reiger can be bought directly from their website

For the BMWP Front Bumper did you also have to buy the Cold Air Package (I believe its for brake cooling) to get those side ducts open like that?

No they are the stock inserts - the 135i specific ones are open, mine look open but actually are closed out of view if that makes sense?

I've seen the Reiger lip being referred to as 'carbon look'. If it looks the same as in the photo it would go nicely on my Alpine White 1er.

I think you should get one and test the fitment

but please keep in mind that rieger uses water transfer printing for their carbon look and no real carbon!

That sucks but as long as it looks good. I paid quite a bit for an iCarbon lip (back in the day) and it eventually cracked and looked horrible. I'd prefer something a bit more durable. My car is quite low though, so I'm not sure if this will work.

If anyone has access to one of the flat splitters to make a paper pattern of it I can easily cut one out of Lexan or ABS on the CNC machine. Been making MINI Cooper splitters for a few years now.. Either paint it, cover it vinyl, and put a front edge trim on it if you like to protect that leading edge.

I`m not sure. Depends on the lenght of the part under the bumper.
that`s where had had to mod the kerscher lip to get it fitted right,
