Diesel fuel going to snow
Off to thredbo this weekend in the family x3 30d. Since its diesel I have been told to make sure I fill up in cooma or Jindabyne as they have anti freeze in the diesel. Does everyone agree? Assume it does not need to be a full tank? Thanks

^^thats right... fuel stations in cold climates has an additive that prevents the diesel fuel from gelling up - and freezing. Back in the "old days" we use to mix a gallon or two of kerosene to the diesel fuel. I am not so sure a modern diesel engine can tolerate kerosene.
I would just buy as much "local" diesel as you can - in the cold climate you will be driving too.

Unfortunately the 135 was not an option with the family and all our gear. Having said that the 30d was not too bad cruising and was more than enough to give my father inlaw in his 123d a hurry up the hill on the turn off to thredbo from Jindabyne
