BMW is now painting the grill slats....

So yesterday I met some friends over at the Welt and saw this 123d vert there. What caught my eye was the grill vents were painted white while the grill frame remained chrome color.

What do you guys think>?

If you like chrome, you'll probably like this. This isn't a slam, I think the white works with the chrome I'm just not a chrome guy myself.

Hahaha. That's funny^^^. My friend who drives a 5series GT has this sort of look. I don't know if I like them. The stock black slats on my 128 vert make the car pop. This seems like it is camo.

I remember seeing a post from someone that bought a 'limited edition' 1 series. I thought they were the only ones with the white painted slats? In the post he also stated that they come with a brown interior.

I actually like it. Its different. Everyone and their sister has black kidney grills. It flows with white...., other colors I would probably contest.

My neighbor on white 335i have painted grill w/o chrome looks not bad... Though 135i big grills are real balls of the car. Specially when they are performance all black.

Ya, that's just a version of the limited edition we have here that has the dark brown tobacco interior.

Luckily, if someone wants the brown interior with terracotta now discontinued, I suppose they can get that and swap out the grilles if they don't like the white.

The "luxury" versions of the F30s have similar grilles, no?

idk... black (gloss or matte) just contrasts so well with any bmw paint color... and looks better than chrome on black bimmers still too....

No, sorry I do not have a part number. I would stop by a dealer and look up a 2013(Bj), 123d vert and see what comes up for the grill choices. RealOEM.com only shows the chrome and black perf grills.

My 2010 has them painted black.. Not sure if your just talking about the white 1 series or painted slates in general.. Doesnt do anything for me
