Sounds generator fitment into bulkhead
So I removed the foam from the bulkhead side of the sound generator on my 06 3.0 si. What I can't figure out is if I installed that generator back in completely. I've seen pictures of the ridged cylinder on where it is supposed to be "snapped or clicked" into another portion of the bulkhead wall, but that is non existent on my car. The ridged portion goes right into the hole leading to the interior, and all that is left is the rubber surround pressing against the bulkhead. When the sound generator is in, there is about 2-3 mm of play in any direction, there is no snap etc. Basically the rubber surround is just up against the bulkhead. Seems relatively snug, but it could just be my imagination, but when I pulled it off, I thought it was firm and that there was no play.
Can someone help me out with this? It does seem there is some variation year to year though. Am I just being paranoid? |

When reinstalling the tube, have the tube positioned in a counter clock wise position , so as to be able to turn the tube 1/3 of a turn clock wise direction after having the end into the firewall and it will pull tight.
