OEM Exhaust Mod, Larger Tips?

Has anyone added larger tips to the OEM exhaust? I happen to really like the sound of the OEM exhaust mod, but I find the stock M3 exhaust tips to be really small.

I was wondering if anyone ever upgraded the stock tips with something larger. I know EAS makes ones like this but they are single walled. Has anyone ever done a dual walled upgrade?

So funny you mention this.

I just paid for the ACM exhaust mod and am having it done next week.

I originally was going with single walled tips that were the same diameter as OEM, however "look" larger. However after driving behind an M3 with those tips, where they look great from angles they tend to disappear from behind IMO.

So, I ordered Mechunik Stainless Exhaust Tips from Bimmian.

http://www.bimmian.com/Mechunik-Stai...r-E93-3-Series

I was glad I found them because they look great and still give an understated custom look to the exhaust.

Hope this helps..

The problem is that the sizing is weird on the stock exhaust. So if you were to get a set made it would be a one off, and expensive (rolled tip)

See I don't really care how much it costs. As long as it's not more expensive than a top of the line M3 exhaust. I've listened to pretty much all the exhausts for the M3 and dislike all of them, even the M3 performance exhaust. The OEM exhaust and modded version is the only one that has that aggressive crackling burbling sound that just sends shivers down your spine.

All the other exhausts smooth out that sound and replace it with drone or high pitched squeal.

EAS tips are probably the best option but I gotta say $250 is a little nuts IMO.

didn't see a measurement, but from closer look it looks like a stockish tip painted, keep us posted on your thoughts when they are on.

The tips are slanted, they look really good / different than the norm IMHO.

They look to be the stock OD from the pics. Although the angle cut black chrome tips look BA, I'd hate to pay for another set of stock sized tips.

I have the EAS OEM exhaust mod with the larger EAS tips.

You can see them in the video I posted here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=871504

I wonder if you can just order the M performance exhaust tip separate:

It looks like they just rivet on like the stock tips.

Good question. There must be a separate part number one would imagine.

That's what I picked up, the black chrome. Goes well with the gloss black M badge.

if you want something larger, then you probably don't want the MPE tips. from what i know, they are the same size as OEM. they may look larger because they are single walled.

I have the gloss black tips from Bimmian. I had them installed over 2 weeks ago. They look really good. You have to disassemble the exhaust to get to the rivets to install the tips.
