How bad could it be?

Went to the track today, and switched cars with my cousin. 991 Carrera S is awesome but unfortunately he spun my M Coupe and smacked into an elevated banking.

Fortunately it wasn't worse but clearly the rim and tire are shot, as is the camber arm.

Anything else I should be concerned about?

I had it flatbed to my indie, but just can't stop wondering what else could be wrong under there.

As hard as it is, I'd try not to think about what might be wrong until the shop looks at it. Really no way to know until it's evaluated. The final test, if it all looks okay (wheel and obviously damaged parts excepted), is what the alignment setting say.

I have my fingers crossed its just the LCA and wheel.

Sounds like you should just swap cars with him!

With that much force I would take a look at the trailing arm but it looks like the wheel took the brunt of the damage and the weak (aluminum??) camber arm bent as well

By the way that damage looks pretty severe, I probably wouldnt let that friend drive my cars around in the future... just me though. He must have been going pretty quick

You're right about it being a severe hit, but I can't blame the camber arm. The turner model is way stronger than stock. I think finnegan said it best, that getting the alignment will tell if something else is bent.

So the good news is that it was only the camber arm and rim.

The better news, the wing and splitter were installed. Will be picking it up tomorrow, but was sent a teaser pic before the new wheel was installed.

Would you share the wheel specs for the ones you are running? They look great in your car.

Sure. 19 x 8.5 et35 and 19 x 9.5 et22. And thanks. Good to see another M Coupe in south Florida. Sometimes it feels like everyone is from Cali.

Krypptic,

Is your plan to leave the wing on 24/7 or remove it and only install it for track days?

Every time I see the Z4MC with a APR wing, I think it looks awesome and horrible at once. Can't make up my mind about it. (I'm sure it's easier on track)

IMHO a coupe with a wing is pure hotness.

To me the spoiler really throws off the otherwise elegant and smooth lines of the Z4 Coupe. If I saw it on a track I would probably get really excited about it.

But if I saw it on the street I would cringe.

Maybe its just me but I think the Z4 Coupe looks perfect stock and is very hard to actually improve upon from an aesthetic standpoint.

up and running pic but no what-happened prognosis? Assuming it was just the LCA and wheel then?

I did not mean for my question to degenerate into 'that is hot', 'that sucks'. It always seems to.

Just wanted to know if you are going to take it off or not. If so, could you post a picture with it off but the mounts still on the car, if possible. I understand if it is too much trouble.

+1. I'm sure the spoiler is all about functions on the tracks, but it's still hard not to make airplane/shopping cart/fast and furious jokes when you see it in the streets.

I plan to keep it on. I put on few miles off the track, and the is zero loss of rear visibility.

It's definitely polarizing on the road. I for one like the look with and without it. I like to think of this as the RS version of the M Coupe. A little less pretty but bit more focused.
