Hey guys,
So i have been looking at M3s for a while. Decided i need more space, more seats, a more comfortable ride (mostly for the gf), and that M V8 . Negotiated a good deal on one and sadly that meant the Z4M had to go. It was a fun filled 2 years of top down driving. It was my first convertible but definitely not my last. And the S54 is still an amazing engine. In the future i would like to add an S54 car to my stable. The M3 is fully loaded except for 19s. Its Jet Black on Fox Red. Its quieter, bigger, heavier. Turn in is very good until you feel the weight. Sounds amazing when you really get into the revs. The ride is plusher even in the EDC sport mode. Im still in the honeymoon period but overall im glad i made the transition. Here is a picture at the dealer: Im not too active on the forum but ill be hanging out still. I also have some wheels i need to put up for sale. Thanks for reading.

Congrats, and nice color combo picture isn't loading for me but I'm sure it looks awesome. I've been thinking about making the same switch when I have kids in a couple years. Can't beat the all around appeal of the M3!

Thanks guys! Ive got E46 M3 ZCP wheels and E46 M3 18" wheels that i don't need anymore. Ill post up separate F/S threads later.
The first feeling you get about the E92 M3 is just how roomy, quiet, and comfy the ride is. The nappa seats are way harder than the novillo seats which adds to the comfort. I love the adjustable side bolsters i missed them. The handling isn't as sharp until you put it in Servotronic sport and EDC sport (ie program the M button and make it part of your startup routine). I love the way the car turns into corners its smooth and pretty immediate but mid way through you can begin to feel the weight of the car and have to back off a little. Im still getting used to that and building my confidence. The clutch is softer, the shifter is softer and clicks into place smoother. The M3 is easier to drive on a daily basis for sure. I would never be able to do this in the Z4M. Power wise the car is deceptively fast. In the Z4M I had a decent sense of how fast i was going maybe because of the extra noise from the engine/wind and feel from the seats and steering. The E92 M3 is a bit more 'numbed' in that sense but builds speed with ease. In comparison to my old vette, the M3 seems like it has little tq down low. It doesn't slam you into the headrest nearly as violently. But the speed and power is there. I realize im not painting a flattering picture of the M3. But in my eyes the M3 is just not as pure a driving experience as the Z4M. Everything is a bit dialed down to a less extreme level if that makes sense.

Congratulations! Great color combo.
Your description is on the mark from my perspective. I had an E92 M3 at one point. It's surprisingly easy to get into felony speeds quickly with that car. It's very quick but you just don't feel the speed like you do in the Z4. |
