Vermont Mountainside

Went to a wedding in VT this weekend and the scenery was phenomenal. I live on the Jersey Shore so I'm used to the ocean and beaches, not lush greens and mountains. It was a nice change of pace. I had to get out and snap a quick picture. This was the only one I got on my iPhone with the rest still on my SLR camera but this one was one of my favorites.

Love the view but I probably would not have driven the M3 that far. Anything over 2 hours is too much being slammed in that car. Not comfortable at all.

I would have taken something with good gas mileage and a lot more comfortable.

I was very hesitant to drive my M3 there. In total it was 9 hours there and back. I put about 800 miles on the car over the weekend with about 700 of them being the trek to and fro and the remaining 100 just blasting through the mountainside and around town. I didn't want to miss out on driving the M3 on such awesome roads so I gave up the idea of renting a car. Although nothing is guaranteed, I can almost guarantee that ripping around in the M3 in VT would be better than doing it in a econobox rental

Hell, yes.

I've got a trip to Colorado coming up, and I'm so bummed that I won't be taking my car. It's just me and the older two kiddos, so rear DVD player and not caring what they eat/drink in the car (and the fact that the final few dozen miles are over rough gravel roads to the ranch we're meeting up at) mean that we'll be chewing miles up in my wife's CX-9 instead.

It is a great trip car (we've taken it all the way to Montana), but the mere thought of early morning blasts through mountain passes in my M3...

It's much better to drive the M. A smile plastered on your face throughout the trip is much better than this when renting a "comfortable" gas miser.

I hear you. 9 hours? Wow, I probably would agree driving the M3 is more fun but I go back to my 8 hour hike in my lowered Z4MC, talk about numb legs, arm pain, you name it. lol M3 is a bit more comfortable and the econobox does nothing for me either aside from being comfortable.

Anymore pictures?

I was in Manchester Center and Dorset for the wedding but the road I took was VT-30 (which is near VT-7A) and I happen to take it by mistake. Literally woke up Friday morning and just started to roam around. I drove on VT-30 for a good 15-miles and it had nice roads all throughout. Even if you're not close by, I'm sure it's not going to take you long to find a good road.

Great picture... Is there any reason the front reflector looks a little off in color? Your white and red M contrast very well with the backdrop.

I actually have a clear lens reflector and not a body colored reflector

I drove 10+ hour to FL from SC. No problems at all. Had to stop for gas every 300 miles but other than that, I was comfortable.

A Z4M, now that could be another story.

P.S. the worst part about that trip wasn't the car (it performed beautifully). It was going speed limit in FL due to cops being EVERYWHERE. Now that was torture.

I hear you. Yeah the Z4MC was a real long distance killer. I had to get rid of it due to constant back pain and leg pain. M3 is much better.
