Tow hook license plate holder

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2013 M5 in Alpine White after selling my E92 m3.

Enjoying the car for what it is so far, just a cruiser as it only has 200 miles haha. Can't wait for the 1200 mile service.

My question is could someone link me to a front license plate holder that is good/compatible for our cars?

I looked on google and found some results but just wanted to be sure and was hoping someone on here could help.

thanks a lot!

Top notch quality - im running the lightened version. It came with all the necessary tools for an EASY install, works with PDC also.

Same here. I bought the lightened version and it is great -- you can get cheaper ones that are similar just like what a friend bought but upon seeing what he got, I went for the USMill version -- price does dictate the quality/finish of the product.

Any pics of post-installation? The dealer paid for and installed a Rho-plate which is absolute rubbish. It unceremoniously fell off after a spirited drive...

I just use 3M double sided tape. I used it on the last Targa Trophy event and it came off extremely easy with no residue either on the plate or the clear-bra on my front bumper and I also drove with it up to 150mph. Cost me $5 bucks. Lol!

I haven't put mine on yet but dont want to punch holes either much less want it to fall off using tape. Decisions decisions.

Wait for the first ticket, blame the dealer and hope for a warning. Then get the tow hook mount.

Hmm, I have a Rho-plate on the way, and I'm curious about this comment. Could you elaborate a bit?

Isn't it basically the same concept at the US Mill Works one? They both seem to attach to the front tow hook.

Thanks

I havent had experience with the RHO, but after research on the net, US Millworks returned the best comments in the various forums. I have to attest that you wont get better top grade quality than the US Millworks imo, it really is top notch quality and finish. The matte black finish is very nice. For $79, or $99 for the lightened kits, its a no brainer.

Good enough for me. Picking up a couple of the US Mill Works ones now.

Thanks for the tips.

Sure. Yes, the general concept appears to be the same, the execution however, leaves a lot to be desired. The Rho-plate is not made using the same high-quality aluminum material and there are some design flaws that adversely affect its fitment. I found the spacing plate to be insufficient for proper clearance between the bumper and the back of the plate. Be careful that if it does become loose it doesn't rest on the bumper and damage it. The kit does include rubber bushings to place between the plate and the bumper but they fell off soon after installation. Furthermore, unlike the U.S. Mill Works plate, it can't be removed with the same ease and quickness one would expect for detailing, car washes, and photo shoots.

HTH,

This was extremely helpful, and just what I needed to hear. Thank you!

Ordering a few of these now. (Also, mad hate for front license plate laws.)
