looking for advice on a first cosmedic mod

Hi everyone,
I'm a longtime lurker, and recently got a 2011 red 128i. I love it! It's my first bmw and I could not be happier. it is stock except for window tint and debaged. I am satisfied with the performance of the car, but would like to make a modification to the exterior to make it "mine".
I am a complete novice to the more technical side of cars, and would love some suggestions on a thing or 2 that wouldnt be too expensive but would make it more distinct without being too crazy.
Thanks!

Carbon fiber spoiler and Blacklines are a good start

Kidney grills are a nice mod that's cheap and easy. Either black, CF or take them apart and pint the surrounds in body color.

Thanks for the ideas so far. I do feel like the car is a little... bright with all the crome on red, so I think the black tail lights plus kidney grill in all black would look real nice.

Modified side markers, either just a silver bulb to get rid of the "egg yolk" look or LED markers in various styles, tinted or clear. Lots of different things you can do there for cheap.

Thanks for the idea! I had not really considered that before but you are right, that would look really good. I will do some more research on that now

The led smoked side markers are one of my favorite mods. I can't believe how many 1's and 3's I see that have all kinds of other stuff done, and those ugly amber side markers are still there.

Google it, there are several companies that make different versions. I bought mine from Bimmian.

I've got crimson red, and I think the following compliment the car well.

In no particular order,

1) CF or Gloss Black Grilles
2) CF or Gloss Black Spoiler
3) CF or Gloss Black Mirrors
4) Dark Gunmetal or Black Rims
5) Black LCI Taillights

Some pics for reference (see my mod list below)

Thanks for the pics, that looks good! Since creating this thread I have bought black wheels and grills. I'm still thinking about the spoiler and I had not considered black mirrors, gotta give that some thought. I'll post pics once I get the wheels!
