Should I or Shouldn't I ?

So, went into the local dealership to follow up on some parts I have ordered. Then planned to book a service appointment on my e92.

In reality what happened was I walked by a 2013 frozen blue e92 on the show room floor, which just arrived, that spoke to me in a language I've never heard before.

It was love.

And now I turn to you all for reasons/discussion on why to, or why not to jump on this love affair.

Needless to say, should this illegal adultery happen, all my mods from my 2011 will be posted in the FS section.

If you don't mind listing exactly what mods those would be, it might influence my opinion

Why would you sell your mods? Switch over to the newer M3?

But seriously its the same car minus the paint. Why not wrap it?

so you wanna lose money in order to trade in the car you already have for another car that is identical to it, except for some ugly frozen paint that is a serious pain in the ass to maintain? Just vinyl wrap your car if you want a different color.

Good point. I currently have every OEM piece of carbon fiber on my e92 (interior and exterior) and not sure if it would look good on the frozen.

Wrapping is only a temporary fix in my experience. Granted, a much cheaper avenue.

I'm also scared to own an M outside of warranty up here in Canada.

There's also something to be said about the 1 out of 300 with this color.

I really do appreciate every reply here gents. Keep them coming

Don't listen to the "Frozen" paint haters...you can do a search here where some of us dispel the myths of Frozen Paint care/maintenance.

You only live once...and you can't enjoy your money when your dead...so I say do it!

What would happen is that you would pass up the opportunity and someone close to you would buy it and you would see it every day on your commute to work. Every day you will look at the other driver, maybe exchange a nod, speak at some meet, and the conversation will at one point inevitably contain the sentence: "I was going to buy that one, but decided to keep mine instead." And the other guy will say: "Im so glad you didnt, Im so in love with this car! The frozen blue is beautiful!!" Youll shake hands and part ways, and youll think to yourself: "That couldve been me, that shouldve been me..." and be sad. And it will affect your job, your love life, and eventually you will become completely bitter towards your current E92 and youll blame all your problems on it and sell it for way below what its worth to get it out of your life and buy a subpar Porsche Boxster...

Buy the car man, dont end up in a Porsche Boxster.

Nothing wrong with owning an M3 out of warranty. Mine is.You can also buy an extended warranty which will probably end up being cheaper than trading in the car, with the added cost of not just the price difference, but also government taxes and increased insurance premiums as well.

Wow, people actually ruin their careers and personal lives because their luxury German BMW sports coupe isn't blue? I guess it's true M3 drivers don't have any friends.

Waste of money. Have your car wrapped or painted. Much more cost effective for the same end result.

However tempting it sounds and looks, I'd take a pass since the F80/82 M is just around the corner. If rather wait and see what the new M3/M4 have to offer.

In the meantime, it appears that you (along with the rest of us) don't have any problems keeping busy with some minor modding along the way to keep things interesting.

Although cash may be readily on hand, I'd still hang tight!!!

Yeah, I'm the moron. At least my car doesn't look like someone at the factory forgot to apply the clearcoat to it.
