That is great.
I went to the track last night and my experience was opposite. First runs I foot braked to about 1000rpm with MDM on. The car felt like it hesitated for a good second and then a bit of wheel hop and a dismal 12.4 run and a 12.6 run. Then I tried with DSC off. With foot braking I got massive amount of wheel hop. Massive!!! The DSC off runs I was trying to set up the LC. Impossible. Two 13.0 runs. I got everything programed into the M2 button, but having to feather the brake for the LC to activate is bullshit. Gave up on LC, trying to stall the car with DSC off was not working either. Best run was with MDM feathering it out of the hole 12.2. Then very last run of the night planets aligned and the car hooked hard, shifts were hard and the run felt the best of the day. No time. Charlie Brown, what was your 60 foot time? I knew these cars have a 11.5 - 11.6 in them if we can get the 60 foot down to a respectable 1.7 -1.8. Mine were pathetic 2.2-2.3s.

Excellent. I knew someone with skill would get it down to this number. Beats my 11.9 with DSC On and coal filter still in.
Can you post a few more details: 1) how did you set up the car for the run? 2) the slip so we can see the time breakdown 3) is there a video? My video shows a slow launch, 60 feet in 1.96s.

It allows the car to breathe better. Less air restriction due to the charcoal filters. The European models don't have the charcoal filters I believe.. only in the U.S for emissions.

Ok here's the break down..
All runs had shift and throttle set on sport plus, suspension and steering on comfort. Using MDM and foot brake. 60' 1.927 330 5.077 1/8 7.640 MPH 96.73 1000' 9.823 E.T. 11.661 MPH 121.14 I did use LC once and managed a 1.760 60' but the shift to 2nd was violent and the car began to wheel hop bad and lurched sideways so I had to get out of it. Had the the car been able to get traction I have no doubt it would run an 11.50 All in all not bad for the first time out. PS.stopped at the scales and was surprised to see 4,635lbs flash at me!!! |

Comparing to my slip, it looks like you gained a half tenth on the first 60', were up 2/10ths by the 330', and the remaining half tenth came from the faster accleration due to the filters. MDM mode did a better job than DSC to the 1/8th mile marker. BTW Keep an eye on dragtimes.com - that's where the videos are often posted.

Also the time you set is comparable to a stock Lamborghini Gallardo Supperleggera. Impressive!

you're right, the LC is completely useless. the couple of times i tried it i got so much wheel hop i thought i broke something. for me, 12.2 @ 119.9 is also the best I've managed so far. i know how you feel though, running 12's sure makes you feel slow amongst some of those other guys, ie. there was a old pick-up truck there that was doing high 11's. and one bike ran an 8.6!!!! All my runs except the one attempt with LC were in D3. No ability to rev before launching using D3. My technique was to shallow stage the car, hold brake with left foot, floor the gas, release the brake, wait for it...(seriously, it feels like it takes a second before the car responds. I could do this between the top and second yellow and not red-light). BANG! The revs shoot up and the car launches. Then it's a matter of modulating the throttle a bit and keep the rear wheels behind the front wheels.
Next time out I'm going to try S3. |
