Front Seat Difference - Ventilated Seats?

Quick search lead to no answer.

I've noticed pictures of 2 different styles of front seats. Some have 4 stitch lines that run parallel to your legs (continues for back cushion):



The other has no stitching in that direction, but only perpendicular stitching:



I'm assuming the first type is for ventilated seats found with the Executive Package, but the images don't change on BMW's online configurator? Thanks for the clarification.

I would think so. The seats in the 2nd picture are not perforated and that can't work with ventilation.

I could be wrong, but I believe that M seats are an option outside the US. In the US we get the M seats standard. As for the perforation, Im not certain if it would come that way should you not order the executive package.

neither of the above are the vented seats, they should be perforated, I'll take a pic of mines and post it later

The images are very low quality, but the first image appears to be ventilated.. the executive package seats.

pretty sure that's ventilating seats in the first pictures, because I have the same ones.

Now that I look closer could just be a bad pic, it is the same shape as my ones.

It's not about ventilation at all. In Europe we don't have packages and can choose every single option. Seats with perforation come with extended or full leather. The other seats, which on the picture without perforation, is from standard leather for M5

So, what can I expect in the US? With the Executive Package, we agree that it will be like the first picture?

As a US spec car, if you order the Executive Package which contains Ventilated Seats, you should expect the seats in the first photo.

I dont believe anyone in the US can get the seats pictured second - question is will they be perforated w/o exec package. My guess is yes but they just wont ventilate? Anyone here in US w/o exec?

Yes you can get non-ventilated seats. No executive package, no ventilated seats, no perforated leather.

I ordered an Individual M5 and I had them delete the ventilated seats from Exec Pack because I did not want perforated leather. They ended up messing up and my car went into and completed production with Ventilated Seats.. whatever.
