Any Ft. Lauderdale/Miami ESS VT2-6xx guys around?

If so, any chance we could meet up so I can check how they run, etc? I want to get the kit, but definitely need to try it first..

Roman or Tom, any Miami/Ft-Laud members you guys can point me to?

Hit up the guys at Velos in Miami. I'm sure they can arrange to get you a test ride.

Try NFAM3 and 1SIKM (formally 1VelosM).

They are both down here with those kits. I'm on a AA Stage 2+ right now as well. Not sure if there are any VF or Gintani guys down here.

Good luck.

I've driven both ESS cars and AA.

you should try passing by AA and get a ride you won't be disappointed at all. Personally I love the AA kit as it drives way smoother and the 3 bov's sound way better IMO

Interesting observation, mine is very different. I got to ride in a AA supercharged stage 2 car at the track and I thought the 3 BOV sounded obnoxious. The partial throttle was responsive at lower RPM's but very jerky. The other issue I had was that the lowered RPM limit "from stock" and lack of top end power was a downer. It looked like we were hitting a soft RPM limit around 7800-7900 RPM and the driver was having to shift very early. My ESS VT1-550 with 8600 RPM limit is a hell of a lot more fun to drive IMO and very smooth.

Feel free to come by and try our gen 2 kit. I can promise you wont be able to find a single negative thing to say about it.

Good thing this entire thread is about helping him actually ride in / drive them so he doesn't have to trust some Internet "expert".

...but maybe I missed it; he asked if anyone knew of ESS cars in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami - who did you suggest again?

You are fortunate enough to live down in SoFla right by Active in North Miami! I definitely encourage you to test drive all the kits to make your own judgements - why not if you can? Personally I owned an AA Gen 1 Level 2 kit and now Gen 2 Level 3 kit. I have a thread with a bunch of dynos and comparisons in this section so I won't get into that. I actually lived in SoFla for a couple years and one of my offices was right in Plantation on state rd 7! If only I was into modding my old m3 then! Contact Andrew - he and the rest of the guys at Active have been awesome to work with.
