4 errors in a row!? WTF!!!
I think it's safe to conclude that I've bought a lemon.
Got the car in Oct 2011, and already been to the dealership SIX times to fix various issues... And this evening I started the engine and received not one but FOUR error messages in a row!!! - driving stability! - DBC malfunction! - FTM system error! - Start-off assistance inactive! I'll upload photos when I get home. FUCK!!! I've never owned a car that'a this reliable /sarcasm! I will NEVER buy a BMW again. And please don't say shit like "because high performance car are all unstable"----you know that's BS! |

Remember that there is thousands and thousands of BMW M3's, there is obviously going to be some with problems. And those 4 glitches might be caused by the smallest problem in the car, so i won't worry to much about it.

Don't think you guys read the part where I went to the dealership SIX time for SIX different issues in less than a year.
EDC error. Front wheel bearing noise. Rear differential noise. Vacuum booster failure. Etc, etc. And now THIS??? I got the M3 because it's the measuring stick of this segment, but man, I'm never buying a BMW again. You fanbois can flame me all you want. But I know that a MANY users on this forum feel the same way as I do. We are DISAPPOINTED. Spend $90,000 CAD this is what we get? And clearly I'm not anyone here. |

For all of you that's being sarcastic and flaming me. I'd like to see you remain calm and not bitter after going through my experience.
I'm genuinely disappointed at MY car. I hate to generalize but I find it hard to resist doing so after reading pages of problems people are having with this car. |

Welcome to the world of mass production. Like others have said, having a small portion of cars with problems is unavoidable. It would be statistically abnormal for it to not happen. You just happened to fall within that small group. |

Funny because I had a 350Z too. I hate to say this, but my Fairlady didn't have nearly as many problems as my M3. This is really sad. I LOVE cars and I want to love my M3, but I run a busy business and really just don't have the time to deal with all these problems you know? |

Never seen those errors before...
I understand what you're going through, my old e90 325xi was riddled with problems and I took care of that thing more than people take care of their kids. I barely drove it, kept up with all the maintenance, cleaned it regularly, used all OEM parts, I wouldn't even let people drink water in it. I had it for 2 years and traded it in with 14,000 miles but those 14,000 miles were a living hell. I had suspension issues, spark plug issues, tranny issues, my battery would die every 3 months leaving me stranded after work, pretty much everything that could go wrong went wrong. I was really glad to get rid of it. My recommendation is to just get an ISF or GTR if you want reliable performance. My friends own them and daily drive them and so far they haven't told me about any issues. But personally I've never had any serious issues with my M3 and I'm pretty certain mine has the most abuse out of everyone on this forum (*knocks on wood). It has a little over 70,000 miles, it's daily driven through snow and rain with summer tires, my wife drove it into a ditch twice, people have had sex on it/leaned on it, it's been taken off-roading(got lost in boondocks), and my wife even threw up in it. The e92 M3 to me has honestly been top notch. Maybe BMW is skimping with later model year cars? |
