Carfax history to show oil pump service?

Out of curiosity, will the pump replacement show up in a report?

I was told that none of the VDC stuff would appear in CarFax but if at the dealership then maybe a different story.

interesting never thought of this, i hope the vpc repairs dont show this as i am one of them... can easily refuse the car and just wait for one with no bad marks

I'm set to receive my VPC repaired car any day now. Great point and will ask BMW to produce the carfax. Sad to ask for something like this upon picking up a brand new car

I may be wrong buy i believe carfax isn't an instantaneous mark on the cars record, it may take a while to show on it. But i would def not want it on a car i purchased, if it was leased i wouldn't care.

I'm sure it will. A few months back I was actively searching the CPO list for an E92 m3. Naturally, I checked the car fax on every vehicle and anything that was done at dealerships was listed on the report. If "dealer prep" shows up on the list, I'd be surprised to see the oil pump issue left off the list.

I think since this is a recall it will definitely be on the carfax at some point. I think carfax picks up all of those.

Yep, I got a call from BMWNA today re: oil pump and side bolsters. Asked him and he verified it would show up on carfax. His argument was that these days recalls are common for many cars, so shouldn't pose a resale issue. I'm not so sure about that. Unlike other model wide recall issues, this will show up only on VINs that were affected.

Wonder if it still happens if before delivery, not titled yet?!
