GOODRIDGE brake lines with Motul Dot 5.1 fluid installed- REPORT

Hi, everyone,

Thought for my engine and speeds this mod should be a self-fooling.
Anyway, the stock brake-lines were to be replaced.
More to that I wished to try to improve the pedal feel and accurace and the maximim pressure as well- would be not bad even for the city drive.

It works! Really, without the stupid "try it and believe it":

- Pedal feel improved (no "clay-feel" anymore)
- Braking accuracy increased significantly
- Highway strong braking is really faster and seems more effective

For the $250 including installation cost I've got what I was looking for- without some fantastic expectations, but the result is there and is very much satisfying!

I've done the switch to SS brake lines without the change in fluid and I didn't notice very much of a difference. BMW makes good brake lines. Motul Fluid on the other hand, both the fact that it was fresh fluid and better quality, along with proper bleeding of brake lines made a huge difference.

It is highly possible, as the stock lines removed looked ancient, but quite fat and hard.
Seems the fluid makes significant difference, while the old Castrol Dot 4 was less then 1,5 years old, and felt soft from the beginning.

But actually I had a great opportunity to compare my result with my Girlfriend's 118i, which has the same brake mechanisms, and where the fluid was changed at the next service box for the same Motul Dot 5.1
The result is good as well in terms of pedal feel and sensitivity, but braking strong, mine pedal goes in much less.

Awaiting for the Motul 600 to be tried in spring!
