M5 Stateside! Lets see if it sits at the VPC or dealer for Oil Pump Replacement!
Hi Guys,
My car was delivered to Brunswick over the weekend and has cleared customs. It says 'finishing touches' on the BMW website and the next step is 'at your dealer' Lets see what happens with the oil pump fix, i am on the list and my salesman said that the fix will take place at the dealer, BMWNA said that it will take place at the dealer (speaking to a very un-informed customer service rep). Everyone on the board here says that the higher ups (with real information) said they will hold the car at the VPC for the fix... I will surely inform everyone on how they handle my car, either it sits at the VPC this week or it gets trucked down. If its gets here with no oil pump fix and has to wait this week then it gets done at the dealer. If it stays at the 'finishing touches' stage for sometime and comes down ready to deliver then we will know two things. 1) when they have the pumps to install and 2) where the fix occurs My car was on the boat 1 week before the recall was announced as many other people's were. I heard somewhere they should have pumps by October 1 (today) so i would assume they would handle it at the VPC (where i hope they do) lets see and i will keep everyone posted on my status, not sure if i would be one of the first that could go in either direction for a car still on its way. |

Congrats. How are you able to see the progress on the BMW website? Whenever I try to login to see my vehicle status it just shows my BMWFS account. Also did you do ED or US Delivery?

Information from the BMW NA website is guaranteed to be your least accurate and timely source.

My sales advisor has a customer that has ordered an M5 and it came into the Brunswick port over a week ago and they will not release to the carrier for delivery to the dealership. It's the waiting game.
Everyday I walk through the garage and see my M5 sitting there, I wanted to drive the car so bad this weekend!! but I also felt this

I did US delivery and i was able to put in my production number and watch the status. I know its about 2 days behind but once you get off the ship which you can monitor with marine traffic, thats the only thing left to use to watch the status... other than asking the salesman like 5 times a day for the latest code in the dealers system. BMWNA doesnt have the detail that the dealer has with number status, ect.... IM assuming that ED cars may not use the BMW site for updates/progress?

I guess then we can see if there is a difference between ED and US deliveries and how they are handled... |

They can only assume it's the oil pump issue. Their not getting any direct info for the hold.

My M6 is currently has the Oil Pump issue too. And it is being repaired at the VPC. My salesman sent me a work form that shows that the work is being done at the VPC.

According to the sheet I got work started on 9/27. But thats the day the car also arrived at VPC. So I dont know if they have the pump yet. I just know that the work will be done there.
I'll ask right now if he knows if they got the pumps yet. |

My dealer just recieved their first pump. Unfortunately it's not for my car unless I can pay someone off. They included a picture with the email.

What I was told is by VIN number, and I'm 3rd on my dealers list by based on VIN.
