odometer reading without key?

does anyone know if it's possible to view mileage without a key on a 2012 M3?

Nice tip! I would do this to enter into my gas cubby app while filling up my tank at the gas station. Turning on the engine can be a hassle if all u need is the mileage number.

actually....i wanted to confirm the current mileage on the 2012 M3 i'm buying. Salesman (via phone call) was having trouble locating the key.
