anyone have collision warning?

i just saw a car tech review on youtube, the m5 had a feature i wasnt aware was on any m5, - forward collision warning. with a dedicated button where my night vsision button is.

i know it wasnt an option for me, as i optioned mine out. except for the rear ES

if anyone has it, how does it work? it sucks that some m5's have certain options that werent available for others.

My m5 July build that arrived at the dealer yesterday (pick up next week!!!!) has it.

It seems it came with some updates that occurred with July production.

It works by using a camera mounted on the windscreen as opposed to radar based systems.

The m5 can't have active cruise and hence use that radar for collision warning as the radar occupies space in the air dam and reduces engine cooling.

I finally got the answer to this question that I had for last few weeks!

Cheers!

I drove 1300 miles in Germany with it. Fairly accurate given there is no radar (just cameras). It mostly went off when you were approaching a car fairly rapidly. Stop and Go traffic it hardly ever went off. It will be interesting to see how it works on US highways vs autobahn
