Hello everyone, a buddy of mine owns a shop that builds custom car parts, i.e. exhaust systems, suspension bits, etc. He asked me if i were interested in a rear strut brace for my 135i. He explained that he can build one, and if anybody else is interested, he can build more.
Just wanted to know if anybody would be interested in a rear strut brace for our E82's. He said the price would be around "150-200$". He also told me that if anybody is interested, he can make a front strut brace as well, and would give a special price for a front/rear strut brace combo. I am not here to advertise my friends shop. Since the only company in my knowledge that sold a rear strut brace for the e82 was "ARC", but they discontinued it, and as i see it, this is a good opportunity for the community. The front + rear strut brace will be test fitted on my car, so fitment will be guaranteed. So if anybody is interested, or have any comments, post em below, thanks. -Tycho |

BR racing has made smth like this too (part of their roll cage package)
I think the most crucial element will be the price and its placement (high up or low near trunk floor)

There is a company on ebay that makes both strut bars and a few lower bars as well that are decently priced. But if your friend can come up with something nice that works, Id be interested.

Im at work and ebay is blocked. ha. But if you search 135i strut bar a few come up. One manufacturer makes on for the front, one for the rear, and a couple lower bars too. I think they are white. They look solid. I might give them a try because even the cheapest ones I have put on my other cars have helped.

Ultra racing makes it. Speed daddy carrys it. I cant tell if its just for the hatch backs or the coupes as well. Youd have to email them and ask. They make a lower rear bar as well

As soon as we get a test car, we will be able to build a proto-type rear strut bar. My schedule is really hectic, and since my car is a DD, i won't be able to leave my car there for the day. If anybody is interested in becoming a test car, PM me.

BR Racing's bolt in half cage comes with a bolt in rear strut brace. I'm sure if you wanted only that and not the whole cage you could ask for it to be made without the eyelets for the cross bracing and down bars. It doesn't attach to the top of the strut towers but it still ties in both strut towers.
