Small dent on back bumper

Anyone know a good body shop in so cal to get rid of an annoying small dent on back bumber. Dent only really noticable when you see it at an angle, very small but very annoying like i said. no scatches to paint just need paintless dent removal. Thanks

its plastic. doubt PDR can happen. plastic can't be repaired easily. If it really bothers you probably only way to make it flawless is replacing the bumper cover.

Here in NYC if you have a car with a small dent like that you should be happy. Have to think twice about parking in every spot.

I had a very small vertical crease on my 08 car, caused by a gate blowing closed as I reversed through the opening.

The dent was removed by heating the plastic and then using typical PDR tools/techniques. The dent was completely removed by this process.

It did require painting afterwards, but overall the cost was half of the cost of replacing the bumper (which had been recommended by one of the BMW bodyshops).

i have two "dots" on my door from parking, looks like someone opened their door on it. i dont know what i can do about it, but things can't stay perfect forever.

that said, would love to fix it.

I just had a crease removed on my bumper. I took it to BMW for an estimate, they wanted $800 to fix it. The body shop estimator recommended a local body shop that could do it for less...cool guy. I ended up getting it fixed for $400. Maybe give BMW collision a call and see if they'd recommend a local body shop for you.

So why did you waste money getting PDR and still ended up getting it painted?

Not true. As one poster mentioned above, heat can be used to remove dents in plastic bumpers. I'm not a pro but I've done it myself with amazing results.

Probably because it was a crease. The heat/PDR was used to repair the dent but since it was a crease, it probably required paint due to cracking.

If the OP literally has a barely noticeable dent and no paint damage, heat and PDR techniques will work.

Because you would likely have to either get at from behind if you're lucky or likely take the bumper off, I hardly consider it PDR.

PDR is not for bumpers ..FYI I had a big dent in my rear bumper..and it couldnt be saved even after heating and remolding it still sagged..only solution was a new bumper cover..

Bumper dents can be repaired but sometimes it doesnt come out perfect.

The crease I had was on my lower front bumper lip. They used heat and a little filler then touched it up with paint. Looks like new.

Read what I wrote.....

I wrote PDR tools and techniques

The tools and techniques enable the return of the material to its original shape after it has gone through a plastic (in the true sense of the word, beyond elastic) deformation.

With steel, this is fairly easy to do at room temperature. With "plastic" it is not so easy and requires elevated temperature, which usually results in damage to the paint surface if present.

I had the choice of

- fill the dent and paint the bumper. No thanks very much.
- heat and reform (using PDR tools and techniques) then paint the bumper
- buy a new bumper and paint it.

As option 3 came to £1100 plus, and option 1 was a complete no no, I went for option 2 at £450.

And a perfect job was done. With none of that "blowing in" nonsense either.

If the paint has not cracked, and the inside of the panel has any access, this should be fixable using PDR.
