Help with Cobb!

Hey guys, I just got a Cobb, I downloaded the map and everything, everything's going well so far, but I'm a bit confused on the boost gauge , how can I make my fuel the boost gauge? And also, do I keep the Cobb plugged into my obd II or take it off? Thanks in advance !

Assuming you mean using your BMW 's fuel gauge as boost gauge? I don't think Cobb AP can do that. But you can keep plugging in your OBD II and use the AP 's monitor feature. Boost is the second last from the monitor manual

gauge hijacking is a juice box functionality. Cobb doesn't have this but you can read boost when it is still plugged into the obd2 port.

drive - 89 octane
sport - 91 octane
aggressive - 93 octane.

you can run stage 1 with 0 supporting mods. stages with a "+" require an FMIC and stage 2 requires at least hi-flow catted downpipes.

do NOT run stage two if you do not have an exhaust. Do you have one besides the down pipes and midpipes? the reason is this is because of how lean the cobb runs and the maps are very specific. if u want to run stage two. atleast do not run the aggressive setting. use the sport. and then get your car ProTuned. My car was running dangerously lean until i get it tuned.

He has to run stage 2 or else he will throw a CEL for catless downpipes.

Run stage 2 drive or sport... You will be fine.

As has been said, stay away from ST2 aggressive for the time being, do some logging on sport or drive and see what type of timing and AFR you're getting. If those check out and the car feels good, experiment with aggressive and run some more logs. The 135 stock exhaust is a pretty restrictive unit, esp. on the N54 the DPs, Midpipes, and axle-back portion all present significant choke points.

It's easy to get more OTS maps, just plug in your AP and download the maps from Cobb's website based on your ECU type (EX. mine is IJEOS). From there put the downloaded maps in the AP map folder, and the manager can copy them onto your accessport. Takes about 45 seconds once you figure the map you want to download.

The AP tells you when you connect it to your OBD2 port.

Go to the COBB site under BMW maps and you will find a dyno graph of stage 2. That will give you an estimate of HP.
