Engine Dynamic Setting Question
Does the engine dynamic setting (efficient, sport, sport plus) simply affect the RPM at which the car shifts, or does it go beyond that and affect other things like throttle pedal response/feel?
Reason I ask this is because if it only affects the RPM at which the car shifts, then does it really do anything if you click over to manual mode in the DCT? Thanks guys! |

The gearbox setting affects the shift point, steady state gear selection for any given speed, and shift speed. Faster shifts are not as smooth as the slower one you experience in efficiency/comfort mode. In Sequential (manual) mode you experience only a difference in shift speed and smoothness. The throttle maps affect the rate at which pedal travel translates to throttle (well actually valve lift) opening. Efficiency throttle setting at cruise leaves the wastegates open for minimum back pressure. Sport/Sport Plus keep wastegates closed for maximum response. |
