Upgrade to stock turbo possible?
Does anyone know if it would be beneficial to take the stock n55 turbo out, have it upgraded & reinstalled? Poss port/polish or is it pretty well maxed out?

"Upgraded" N54 stockers are garbage. They're just clipped wheels and polished housings, they've even shown to make less power. For the $3K vivid wants for their turbos you can get a set of TD04 based RBs that make tons of power.
IMO The N55 is in need of an upgraded turbo more than the N54, it just hasn't happened yet. |

My understanding was that there is not enough room in the housing to do anything substantial and worth the cash. A full swap will likely be necessary but will totally change plumbing for the intercooler not to mention I am sure tons of other stuff. I personally am waiting patiently for Rob Beck to make progress (which may take awhile--he is focused hot and heavy on his money maker now the N54)
