I agree with the posts above; it's not a good look for the 1er coupe. That said, BMW sells the LED light bars directly (I believe they're manufactured by Philips). So if you want to go this route, start there.

I just went with that, I got the white upgraded halo's and took it to a local shop... then I got a car wash, they said they sealed the houseing correctly. The whole right side burnt out, now they want 900 dollars to fix it .... and i told them no way, now they want to go 50/50 on parts no labor cost... so like 300 dollars..... ugh I hate this...

If you want something done right do it yourself
Sorry to hear that but I never trust shops with the headlights on these cars....

I upgraded the halos, and well, the little shop that put them in didn’t seal up the left harness well and it fogged up and burnt out my left projector and my active head lights stopped working too, it’s been a nightmare...
They tried to blame it on the BMW dealership that washed my car.... then; that the car had been in an accident, then that there had been water in the harness for a long time before all this happened because there was a little calcium build up in the heat and humidity, it would take only a couple hours for there to be little white lines on the black plastic... If it even is calcium) but clearly I went in with working lights and only about an hour later had my car washed and then it all went to hell (keep in mind that I had previously washed my car too... so nothing different there, OH OH and he said that the lights had a poor design and that at the right angle a pressure hose could make water penetrate the head light from the outside.... They wanted me to pay 900 for everything to fix it, and I told them to suck it, and worked it down to about $200 but I was still pretty upset about the whole thing. But then magically the projector turned back on... now I’m just trying to get them to fix my active head lights so they turn with the car as well... It's all been such a pain, and I don’t want to talk down about the little shop, but I am only stating facts. I took the car there because I like giving little shops business and wanted to find a shop that could do small little things for me rather than taking it to the dealership for small things. AND I took it there for peace of mind so THIS wouldn't happen, because I read that another member had accidently not sealed the head lamp very well either and had the same issue.... Ugh , excuse my spelling errors I’m just really pissed thinking about all this. |

Christian, consider yourself lucky that you got it fixed for just a few hundred. After spending the cash for LUX bulbs I didn't get the cover on and the whole light crapped out. $2437 later I have a brand new light that is fully operational. Love these cars but when did changing out a light become so darn difficult. That ate up half my budget for Dinan stage 3 suspension. Boo.
