Black or Carbon Fiber Grilles?

I'm going to be purchasing grilles for my 2010 M3 soon. Just got my car and I plan on getting the GT3 wheels, carbon fiber rear lip, and carbon fiber front lip. Would it be wise to go with the carbon fiber grilles as well or would it be overload? I've hardly seen any carbon fiber grilles so I'm wondering if they just don't look good or what. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just my opinion but too much CF. Go for the gloss black or black chrome grilles...

The carbon you have is spaced out (front and rear) and they are small areas. Go for it. I have CF front and side grills and love them. Adds some subtle character to the car.

Do you have any pictures of your ride?

Go matte black from IND.

The carbon fiber grilles look chintzy and make the car look worse than stock. Just avoid them. The grille shape makes any carbon pattern look really messy and ugly and poorly thought out, it breaks the clean lines of the grille and makes it look like you're modding a $500 beater Civic with stick on fender vents.

Is there really that much of a difference between gloss black and black chrome?

CF

I have CF grill on AW and I love it- also CF side grills and reflector replacements as well as hood openings- I think matching is key- Saw a Fire Orange M3 at dealer with black grill and CF splitter and IMO it looked"off".

As for CF pattern-Really don't care what it looks like from 6 inches away- it looks just right from 2 feet or more!

Most people don't see the trim color, but when you see it, you'll realize gloss black is the proper way to go.

Why don't you just buy all three types - carbon, gloss black and black chrome - then return those that you don't like. Simple. You just won't know which one you like best until you can actually see it in reality.

Would go with black...gloss or matte would depend on the color of the car. Gloss for lighter and matte on darker. The black chrome (edition version) have a metallic look to them.

This is a tough call and I toiled with this too. I think with aftermarket CF grills, you run the risk of discoloration or a color match issue. Some are really intricate weave and gloss and others just look cheap. There's a lot of cheaply made version of this, and this is why I decided to go with OEM "M3 Edition" satin black grills. They shine very nicely in the sun. I prefer this over matte as well.

Again, with matte, you have to go aftermarket and you need to ensure that the paint job will hold over time.
