Trip to Vegas. Drove Ferrari 430 Scuderia on track

Went to Vegas for my birthday last week. Had a great time as always in Vegas. Decided to go to Exoticsracing off of Speedway Blvd and drove a Ferrari 430 Scuderia around their track. The car is raw and exciting to drive. The accelaration, grip in the corners and brakes were all amazing. Tires were Pirelli P Zero Corsa. There was a hint of understeer so had to be careful how fast I was going into the corners. It was shocking though how early I could step on the gas exiting the corners. The noise from the engine behind me was like music for my ears The track is kinda short - 1.5 miles, so I couldn't do more than 130 on the straight. It's a nice and technical course though. You go around the track with an instructor in the passenger seat, but he would let you push the car real hard as long as one stays safe. Not to compare the engine in the Ferrari with the S65, but they are so similar in their power delivery...the car just pulls all the way to redline. All I can say is I'm glad I have a BMW with such an amazing engine, so similar in character to the engines of a number of exotics on the market. Since they won't let you go all crazy on the track and I had the adrenaline rush already, I decided to go to an empty parking lot by the speedway and have some fun with my car Talk about timing, I just got a new set of Michelin PSS's from Tire Rack a few days before the trip, so the old tires could use some abuse

This is a fun thing to do, a bit on the pricey time when considering how short the sessions are, but a great experience.

When I went, I drove the Superlegerra LP570 and the 458. Debated for a long while on whether to do the 430 Scuderia versus the LP570. I wanted the Scuderia, but since I was going with the 458 I decided to take the Lambo out to compare the two.

That's a great write up. Thanks for sharing. I felt the same way about the S65 after driving an F430. It surely is an amazing engine.

I went to the same place last year and drove an Italia and Murcielago. The 458 was just out of this world.

It's $349 for the Scuderia for 5 laps. The more laps you drive, the cheaper. The Italia is 399, the F430 is 290...They have a Mclaren, Gallardo, Gallardo Balboni edition - RWD, Turbo S, Aventador, regular Gallardo, Cayman, Carrera S, SLS AMG, an Aston - I'm not sure what model, a GTR. The price includes 2 laps in the passenger seat of a Cayenne GTS - discovery laps they call them. There's also a Corvete Z06 which you can ride in with Rudy Ibanez ( 3 time Japanese drift champion ) driving and drifting around the track for $99.
I have a video of me in the M3 having fun in the parking lot, but can't upload it for some reason...Not computer savy it's .MOD file???

Happy Bday.
A friend of a family has one. Sounds incredibly...agitating to the neighbors
And that's what I like about it.

Yeah the sound is insane. No other car there sounded like the Scuderia. And they had quite the stable. All cars with turbocharged engines sounded like crap compared to the Ferraris. But the scuderia was special. They told us in the beginning that we won't be able to hear the instructor in the car due to the engine noise in the Scuderia.
