I would like to know the answer to this as well. Do you have n54/n55?

OP, if you do have an n55, how do you like the stage II software?

Thanks

BTW, someone did an install on stage III n55 e90 with pics, oil cooler and inter-cooler. think it was bimmerforums.

I'll check

Thanks, I'm really looking forward to this tune. It's really pricey but seems to be done right. Lot of mixed responses, most seem to go jb4.

So, does it transform the car in terms of throttle response and usable power?

I'm really just looking for a decent bump in power....

I feel like my 11 n55 is missing that oomph that the stock 08 n54 I had.

n55 runs good in reliability and consistency terms terms though.

I agree, without the tune it just didn't have the power that I wanted. The tune did transform the car. Throttle response is better and the torque increase is definitely noticeable. Also, the power comes on smooth, no jerkiness and the car drives great when not pushed hard as well. Hope that helps...

I'm still having trouble pulling the trigger.

I don't want to be bothered with a piggyback though.

If it does transform the car, yet stay factory safe and smooth... I might have to do it. Price hurts... Its like should I go on vacation or DINAN?

How fast can I have my bags packed for DI NAN... HAHA

Sorry for the rant. Sorry OP.

Your input does helps YAY. Thanks!

Brix,

Some of the things I thought about before spending $2k on a tune were:

1. How long am I gonna have my car?
2. Am I satisfied with the performance now?
3. Ease of install
4. Will I have to worry about warranty, etc?
5. Do I care that other tunes may have better performance at a lower cost?

The good thing about the Dinan is that you don't have to worry about it. You just give up your car for a couple of hours and the tune is installed and you're good to go. Peace of mind was important to me.

More stuff to chew on...

Yaymitch,

1. How long am I gonna have my car? At least two more years
2. Am I satisfied with the performance now? Yes, but MOAR would>
3. Ease of install Dinan is great for simplicity and minimal complications, but I'm handy enough to install a piggyback.
4. Will I have to worry about warranty, etc? Warranty is very important. I still have two years of factory remaining
5. Do I care that other tunes may have better performance at a lower cost? I don't care about that. I want quality over quantity.

I really like the Peace of mind the DINAN offers. With the JB4 you have to worry about having the right DME. Worry that the non-factory attachments can handle the long-term weather elements.

Their is often JB4 "issues" threads. Makes you wonder if it was due to poor install or lack of quality control.

The PPK is the ultimate peace of mind but borders on being too conservative. Hopefully this week I will drive out to Prestige BMW in Ramsey, NJ to install the DINAN stage II

I'm still chewing, but you have been a big help.

One last question for you Yaymitch... How does the overall exhaust/engine sound compared to the stock tune?

I have the older DME so I get a good amount of crackling and pops.

Do you know how the DINAN tune work with our CAN-FLAP in the exhaust?

Basically does the car sound better, worse, or basically the same post-DINAN tune.

Thanks again,
BRIX

I did not notice much difference in the exhaust note after the tune.
