RPM dial response and exhaust note problem
My car was at the dealer for two weeks... problems with my airbag detector ...
Its fixed. The problem i currently have is that when i'm like at a light, and i press on the gas, the response on the RPM dial is much slower than before and the exhaust is much quieter... really weird ... anyone knows what it could be ?? thanks a lot for your help

I'm halfway kidding, but the software update may have changed your throttle response or added turbo lag. My car is due for 2 year service, some of the fluids get changed, but I'm reluctant to take it in because the car may drive differently afterward. I do have the Dinan S2, which would really piss me off if they altered that.

Sorry to say, your car has been dry humped by v2.46 software which messes with turbo lag, throttle response & exhaust noise.
Take it back to the dealer & complain. Is this an N54 or N55?

Sorry to say that, but they have neutered your car with the latest software, nothing you can do except complain loudly & try to get them to fit the PPK 1 software for free. Basically, the new software encrypts the ECU along with altering the mapping, this currently prevents tuners from remapping N55 cars

This doesn't happen with N54s right? Just neuters but doesn't prevent something like a jb4 or access port from working, correct? |

I have been using Dashcommand to data log my nearly stock 1 before I make more mods to it and before I take it back to the dealer. I want to make sure they don't alter the Dinan tune I paid way too much for. Hopefully someone will capture the before and after of a software change to their stock car.

N55 cars DME are locked down. Tuners are working on the decryption but no one has released a flash tune for N55 with this latest software. I went through 4 months of shit with BMW UK trying to get them to fix/reinstate my cars performance but they eventually told me that there was nothing wrong with my car. They compensated me for the loss of my car for 4 months and basically told me to get fucked.... Now that's customer service!

The new software does not affect JB4/Procede - they will still work, its mostly the lower part of the rev range that is affected. IIRC JB4 does not start to affect performance till 3k RPM.

+1. Yup, sounds like he was Neutered. Welcome to the "turbo lag" club. I bet your engine is quieter now too. Less injector ticking right?
Only thing you can do is complain to your dealer and BMW. Maybe they will give you the PPK1 SW flash for free. It's worth a shot. Otherwise you will need to go with an aftermarket flash tune to get back your old car's performance (throttle response and power). There have been many threads on how BMW is changing the way our engine perform when they do a SW update. Some say they now have a better SW update. I don't buy into that. They just want us to buy another new BMW instead, and limit their liability for buy backs(Lemons) with what they have produced yesterday. There is a mega thread on the e90 forum about this... 223 pages long... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...3#post12265973 Dack
