Dinan Stage 1 n54 versus JB4 N55.....

Not a race story, just comparo.

My car:

n55 - 6 speed
950 miles
jb4 - map 2
bms intake
bms charge pipe
ar 4" kittyless dp

His car:
n54
36,000 miles
Dinan Stage 1 tune with LSD

We both drove them back to back....

How is it POSSIBLE that these two cars felt similar in power? Makes me want to barf that I just bought all this shit. I thought for sure I would easily be able to tell SOTP that the n55 was alot stronger.

I know people say n54>n55 as for power, but what gives? jb4 + my other bolt ons should make gobs more power than dinan stage 1.

You are not making any power from any of your mods except the JB4 + downpipes. Intake and charge pipe provide 0 power.

Also "feeling" doesn't provide you with real numbers. Take both cars to the drag strip and then you will truly see. Or purchase a VBox and use it on both cars.

on an otherwise stock car, won't:

dinan stage 1 + ar 4" dp

make less power than

jb4 -map 2 + ar 4 " dp

You didnt mention what transmission the N54 car has.
You guys must have lined the car up, no? Hard to tell going from one car to the other.

No one buys Dinan stage 1. It's probably Stage 2, which is about the same as JB4 map 2.
