New convertible top
Great day, went to BMW to get my dimming mirrors replaced due to discoloration. My warranty will expire next month so I mention that I have still those older style clips in the mechanism for the top that might eventually damage the top. They looked at it and decided that there are some rubbing marks on the inside. To my surprise they ordered a new top and will replace it without me even asking, great service.

I will be getting my second new top soon. I took it in for an oil change and asked them to look at the hole in the top. My 128i was built in May 2009 so it seems to covered by the TSB on the plastic rubbing pieces but they say the hole is the result of a broken strap and the TSB is not applicable. So they say no TSB but they will put on a free top. I put more water repellant on my first top but now I am getting 1 per year so I haven't bothered. I'd like the 3rd one to hold up, however, because I'm coming to the end of the warranty in another year.
