painting side marker thingy boppers?
Has any one painted the side markers the color of the car to go the extreme de-badging? Was thinking of photoshoping to see how it would look. It seems there are more BMW imblems than M imblems. Thoughts?

you bet. I bought new reflectors and painted them. You can also get decals from Dans decals to cover them.

Maybe I don't have the description correct. I meant the turn signals on the sides. I think intgr understood. I am familiar with people making in smaller (ron) and some painting the sides, so the turn signal doesn't work, but I haven't heard of anyone just painting over the bmw emblem.
I will search, I just don't even know what to call the damn thing |

Roman did pull his and shave them down a little so they don't stick out so far. He had a write up of it somewhere. Found one of them: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...highlight=turn
I have never heard of someone just painting them. But of course you could shave them way down so it's just a bump. |

Or if you have a body shop you trust, you can just shave the thing completely like this guy did:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/vongerm...n/photostream/ I think that cleans up the side of the car so nicely...too bad I can't really afford to do that right now...too busy buying ECU tunes and new Apex wheels! |

It's not, it's from a german BMW forum that I used to have a link to before my laptop crashed, now I can't find the thread for the life of me. But it was a huge thread where the guy documented his build and everything, and it was professionally shaved. He modded the hood and fenders too if I remember correctly to have built in "eyelids" which is why it looks funny.

Yeah if you look at the guys photostream and look at the pictures around it, there's actually a cool shot of it pretty close up and it's done super clean. I wish I could find the thread again, it had TONS of photos of this guys car and the mods he did. That thread was the one that solidified me pulling the trigger on Aero sides and front for my coupe. Anyways, we're going OT, let's focus on Sean's original question...

Thanks guys. Just thinking that it may be the only bmw that has 8 logos just on the exterior of the car. I will photoshop it white to see how it looks on my car.

I spoke with my brother who has had extensive bondo and sheet metal experiance. He seem to think that it was a project that could be done, but it would be as much artist to get the moulding correct. Lots of molding and sanding after putting it on. I like my 1/2 a burger look, but since I kept my original I can always go back to stock.
