New 135i In Accident

I just purchased a 09 135i 2 weeks ago and someone decided to not pay attention and rear end my car while I was stopped at a light. :/ 4 Cars were involved. Think this will be a total?

That's what everyone else has been saying about it so far. Me too haha.

I'm sure the guy that hit me was texting on his phone when it happened. If he was actually paying attention he could have swerved into the shoulder.

Well the guy that hit me is at fault for every car involved in the accident. He does have insurance but they are saying that they will only cover 30k. So now I have to get my insurance company to force them to pay for all the damages.

That's defiantly totaled, your insurance will sue the guy that caused the accident, he probably only had 30k in coverage... Nice to see how well the 1 series took a hit.

That really sucks about the wreck.

If you dont mind me asking, how much do you owe? Would really suck to end up on the wrong side of this considering you just bought it two weeks ago.

im guessing you got hit by an SUV? Im thinking that because the bumper beam is folded back and it looks like the trunk and rear crumple zone too the majority of the hit.

Bad luck man. But at least youre ok. You can always buy another car, but you cant buy another you.

Looks like the culprit is that pick up truck in the 5th pic.

To the OP, hopefully insurance will cover everything. Make sure your neck is OK without that whiplash stuff.

I may be mistaken but read your policy. Under-insured only covers medical bills.

We're you looking in your rear view while this was unfolding? If so, that was probably very scary.

Hope it works out for you.

I haven't even made a payment yet. I just put 4k down.

I have state farm and they cover everything so I shouldn't have any problem.

I only paid 27.9 for the car so I'm sure I'll probably be making money off of this.

The truck that hit me was the blue GMC behind me.

My neck has been stiff and hurting since the accident but I did go to the doctor and get X-rays taken. I'm just waiting to hear back about it.

Yes its done...And if 4 cars are involved with one person at fault I doubt they have enough insurance to cover all of them so you will only receive a prorated amount but you can collect the rest from your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.

Well my insurance company said they will pursue the insurance of the driver at fault and if that doesn't work then they sue the driver and get the money from him.

Id go to the doctor ASAP, honestly. No sense in trying to "shake it off" in a case like this. You already have the incident at hand that shows complete negligence on the part of the driver, so no need to worry about you having to incur the medical bills.

Also, have you gotten a quote from the insurance yet? You really think your car will get valued at over 30k? Edmunds is showing mid to high 20s depending on mileage.

At any rate, im sure there are other 1ers out there that you will be able to get into for about the same amount, maybe get one with a few more options this time

It just happened on Friday so they probably haven't even looked at the car yet. I checked on emunds and it says that dealers will ask for 30k for my car.

The only options I didn't have were idrive, NAV, Leather and heated seats.
