Engine symbols shows up in the display PLEASE HELP
my car has 42,000 miles took the car to the dealer 2-3 weeks ago for oil change , air filter, micro filter and spark plugs replaced under warranty. today all of the sudden while driving the Engine symbol pops up in the display and in the i drive info it said something like ( reduce engine power ) so while I'm driving now and read this, i pull over and turn off the engine and waited for a 1 min then i put the key back in the slot turn on the car and it all disappeared it never showed up again in the display. i thought while driving a bit more it would turn back on but it never did. I'm going to run out of warranty soon anybody know wtf this is again? another fuel pump ? I'm thinking i should take it back to the dealer and tell them what happened since i got some warranty left even though the engine symbol is gone
this reminds me back in 2008 when i had a similar problem like this>> http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4196765 |

Only way to know whats going on is to read the codes. It could be something simple like a one of the coil packs(electrical plugs) not fully clipped into position. Or something more serious. ? Only way to know is to have the car scanned for faults. Go back to your dealer.

Last week this occured in my car.
The dealer just imformed me of needing two new turbos. I'm at 50K and need new turbos? What's wrong with these cars? I feel like I'm part of the "2008 135i" beta team for BMW. Last edited by PA135i; 03-23-2012 at 11:33 AM.. |

my turbos were replaced under warranty at 47,000 miles for free due to some ticking noise the wastegates were making. I don't envy you though, i heard new turbos are 8grand!
