First service quoted for £336!
My first 18,000 mile service is coming up in 500 miles, which is apparently the engine oil & microfilter change. This is apparently going to cost £235.
In June I'll need the 2-year service to have the brake fluid change. I may as well have them both done at the same time, in which case it'll be an extra £79.20. £314 (at a dealer futher away from me - £336 at the closest, hence the thread title which I forgot to change) seems rather a lot for a service, and I'm sure I've heard of others getting it done for less! I wouldn't mind so much but I'm selling the car in July/August when I start a new contract and money's going to be a bit tight for the next few months. Am I being ripped off? Would a service stamp from a third party garage cause potential buyers to avoid the car? If I were a buyer I'd want to know it had been checked over for any potential problems while still under warranty. |
