Should I sell my 135 for a 335?
I just talked to a friend of mine, he says he'll sell me his car for $25,500. I'm sure he'd come off that price a little too.
It's a 2008 335i coupe with 50k miles on it and a factory warranty up to 100k. It's royal blue with the peanut brown leather. It has:
My car is a 2008 135i coupe, black with the boston red leather. It has 32,000 miles and the warranty is up in like two weeks. I paid $28,000 for it like 9 months ago. Since I bought my car, I've installed:
Should I sell my car and buy his? The warranty itself is almost enough to make me do it. Last edited by sistom; 02-01-2012 at 02:44 PM.. |

They're different cars that drive very differently. Which do you like better? If you like yours better get an extended warranty for a lot less than what you'd pay to get the warranty on your friend's car. Yours has lower miles too. If you like the 335i better with all its mods, do you like it $25,500 better? Only you can decide this. Doesn't matter what others think 135i vs. 335i.

Get extended warranty for yours and keep it! My roommate is doing the same thing, he is selling his 08 335 but i like my 135 so much better. He has been jealous since i got my 135. Said he connects more driving my 135 than he did his 335. I wouldn't trade my 1 series for a 3 series right now, unless it was an M3 sedan.

if you can just about even swap, meaning get 24-5 for your car it's not a bad deal at all. The 335 sounds nicely modded.
You paid pretty well for your car though, retrospect is always 20/20...should have just gotten a cpo 135 at that time. You can always go that route sell yours and buy a cpo one, or you can get an aftermarket warranty (i'm not a fan of them, but many swear by them), but it sounds like his car, esp considering the mods is a decent deal.

a pretty even trade id say. the 135 does have less miles but is not covered by warranty. but in the end think about if you make the swap are you going to miss the smaller tighter feel of a smaller car? most likely. Do you NEED the room in the 335 for something spec? If you still have your OE parts detune, get a warranty for 2-3k$ and call it day, because your car will be good for another 70k miles! plus wheres the fun in buying an already modded ULTIMATE driving machine?!?!?

On the 335, with the AA Tune, is the warranty even valid? I've read many of the warranty discussions, but realistically any engine failure can be easily attributed to it by the dealer?
