2011 N 55 dyno results
Attached are the dyno results from my dyno session of yesterday done to get a base line prior to installation of stage 1 PPK
Runs 1 and 3 were in 4th gear and run 2 was in 5th. I have the DCT and am stock except for the Performance Exhaust Hope to get the PPK installed later this week and then do another dyno session |

I am glad you are doing this and posting the data. I regretted not doing it myself. I was an early adopter and got the ppk when it required the additional plumbing (just under $3k installed). Probably took a stupid pill that morning, but it still burns me up that they did not give me a heads up about the software only version that was announced a bit over a month later.
Correcting for mechanical losses the 265 whp would translate to what? Perhaps 305 or 310hp? thx/GJ

I'd say, that 265-268 rwhp figure would mean around the 315hp at the fly.

If that is the correct number then the new Dinan tune gets you 40hp (355hp claimed). I look forward to seeing the ppk results. Thanks

When I bought the PE, the website said the exhaust is supposed to give you plus 5 hp at the crank. Just checked now and they don't make any claims - not sure whats up with that. So based on what BMW orginally said, I should have about 305 at the crank. 305 minus 12% is 269 at the wheels. So the numbers all seem to add up to about where I should be. Main thing is that I now have a baseline to work with. Can't wait to get the ppk installed and do redyno |

Car goes in next Tuesday for the PPK install - was really hoping they could do it this week but no such luck. If all goes well will try to dyno the weekend after the install

I can't wait to find out your results. After seeing another member's before and after numbers I'm curious to see if yours shows similar gains. I got the PPK recently and definitely felt a difference but not sure about the 30 hp he got.
Keep us posted and thank you for sharing your results!

Great post... thanks.
IMO your gain will be better with your PE. The PE without pushing more boost IMO can give power lost but with more PSI= more Gain... Nice stock number by the way, is it on a mustang DYno? AF ratio is very safe, their is room for more safe PSI. Nice curve the top end is nice, it doesn't run out of steam a lot. I like what I see, the N55 isn't a pussy engine like so many people try to say. A lot of potential IMO. |

Took the 135i in tonight to the dealer for the PPK install. Their shop is open 24 hours a day. The night crew is doing the work. All goes well I will pick up tomorrow morning. Hope to re-dyno this weekend.

Picked up the 135i and took it out for a spin - was only able to drive about 15 to 20 miles but initial impressions are:
1. noticeably less turbo lag particularly at low and mid rpm 2. Very smooth 3. very noticeable increase in low and mid range punch 4. some improvement on top Over all an improvement - definately not a transformation. Hope to Dyno this Saturday - if not will have to wait a couple of weeks due to travel |
